"Valley House" Bed & Breakfast
is a small, family run B&B with a genuine warm and welcoming atmosphere
created by your hosts John and Kate.......

This delightful Edwardian dwelling set in large landscaped private gardens
is situated on the fringe of the picturesque fishing village of Mevagissey,
yet is only just a few minutes stroll from the traditional working harbour, shops and restaurants.

There is plenty for visitors both young and old to see and do in Mevagissey
including sightseeing and fishing trips, a visit to the harbour aquarium, lazing on the beach
or simply watching the activities of the local fisherman as they bring in their daily catch.......
A warm Cornish summers evening is the perfect time to enjoy the 'continental atmosphere'
of an evening stroll around the harbour & shops which stay open late during summer
or during those more blustery, cooler months the sound of
waves crashing into the harbour walls and over the lighthouse are sights not to be missed......

The famous Lost Gardens of Heligan is just a couple of minutes away by car,
or if you prefer to walk there is a delightful, though hilly trail
through Heligan Woods which starts opposite the house.
John is always very happy to drive you to Heligan if you think the walk one way would be enough!

The Eden Project is of course not to be missed and depending on traffic is
around a twenty minute drive, there is also a frequent bus shuttle to Eden from St Austell.

The beautiful coastal path is easily accessible from the village and offers stunning views
out across St Austell Bay which ever way you choose to walk.
A walk to Pentewan the next village along will take you around an hour.......
Pentewan has a long safe sandy beach as well as a delightful tea room in the village square
or pub with beer garden and you can even catch the bus back.....
For those guests who rely on public transport, or, would just prefer
to discover Cornwall by bus or train, Mevagissey is well served by the
local bus service, with a regular service to St Austell where you can catch buses
to many destinations or of course the train.....
If you are inclined to be more energetic then Pentewan has its own cycle hire shop
at the start of the No 3 cycle trail.

Mevagissey and indeed Cornwall is an all year round resort
with its own inimitable charm and character.......
